In the 1980’s…Boomers’ biological clocks were
ticking but financial demands to keep up with the Joneses
required two incomes, so working mothers were born. Having
things replaced having time, bumper stickers read
He Who Dies with the Most Toys Wins and stress
became an epidemic. Business thrived, fueling Boomers hunger
for more with a proliferation of new products.

In the 1990’s…Boomers began defying age,
igniting the growth of health clubs, health foods, sports
gear, bottled water and lite or fat free
anything. They made Dockers in, rather than necessary
and had Detroit disguising family vans as SUVs.
Business still fixated on the young, but Boomers moved on,
still holding the biggest purse strings.
